We hope that your students will enjoy these no prep February themed reading passages! Included are a mix of twenty fiction and nonfiction sight word passages, plus a bonus “What am I?” passage that is extra fun for kids! Topics include Groundhog Day, The Big Game, dental hygiene, Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, Rosa Parks, and more!
Each passage has two formats: one with multiple choice answers to the questions, and one with spaces for students to write their answers. You can choose which one is best suited to your students.
A list of all sight words and words relevant to February that are used in the passages is included. All Pre-Primer and Primer sight words and most of the First Grade sight words are used in the passages and questions, as well as some Second and Third Grade words. Your students may recognize some of the words that are relevant to February from your monthly or seasonal word wall if you have one!
